My Fave Foodie Trips

Food is the essence of life. We can’t live without it. Sometimes we craved for something and ended up our stomach to be full because of delicious taste. So I want to share some of my favorite restaurants that I already tried (and soon I will try):

Kyochon branches are located at: SM Megamall, SM City Fairview, Greenhills Shopping Center, Eastwood Citywalk, Estancia, UP Town Center, and Robinson's Place Manila

When it comes to Korean chicken, number 1 on my list is Kyochon. I had known it since the Korean pop group Super Junior was its ambassador. Currently, Lee Minho is Kyochon’s brand ambassador.

Kyochon's first branch at SM Megamall

I will never forget my first Kyochon experience at its first store in the Philippines. It’s located at ground floor of Mega B, SM Megamall. I ordered 2-pc drumsticks in original series. I was very satisfied with the unique savory taste of the chicken that I haven’t tasted before. In addition, the restaurant’s ambiance is so tempting that I should come back soon, whether I will try the other dish listed in the menu or order the same. Friendly staff is a plus, that they always greet you with a sweet smile “Annyeong haseyo! Welcome to Kyochon!”

My Kyochon favorites are wedge potato, soonsal strips and honey series. I’m happy that this Korean restaurant is expanding and opens its 7th store located at Robinsons Manila.

Wedge Potato at ₱ 150

Honey Series, Wing/Middle Wing, small serving (5pcs) at ₱149

Soonsal Strips, small size (4pcs) at ₱149

It’s only located at SM Aura Premier, Taguig. This sweet restaurant primarily serves Magnum bars with a unique touch: toppings! Either from its menu or make your own, it’s definitely a craving.

Last year, exactly on my 25th year of my special day, I tried to make my own, dipping it in dark chocolate, adding up 2 of my favorite toppings plus drizzling it in white chocolate syrup. Six months after, I came back to try eating inside the restaurant. I ordered rainbow cake with Magnum bar on the side. Its elegant ambiance complemented the price of each Magnum dish listed in their menu.

I don’t have my favorites yet in Magnum Manila, but because just a bar of Magnum, it definitely satisfies my day.

Mochi Cream Cafe branches are located at: SM Mall Of Asia, SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, Glorietta, Trinoma, and Robinson's Magnolia

I had known this café restaurant because it was featured on Kris TV, hosted by Kris Aquino. One of the dishes was baumkuchen, or Japanese French Toast, served with matcha ice cream. Weeks after it was featured, I tried it and indeed it was the best French toast I’ve ever tasted.

I went to its branch in SM Megamall. The ambiance was very simple yet the furniture was outstanding. It has other branches as well like in Glorietta and Trinoma.

Paper Moon Café

Paper Moon Cafe branches are located at: Glorietta 3 and Trinoma.

I had an idea about it when Viva artist, Anne Curtis, informed the audience in her noontime show It’s Showtime that she’ll be there for the grand opening of Paper Moon Café in Trinoma. Only located at Glorietta 3 and Trinoma, it’s definitely one of my must-try-to-eat food shops, ordering just one slice of multi-layer creped cake.  If the taste of the cake exceeds my expectations, I’ll definitely try another one soon.

Caffera

It is the only café that is photography-themed, located at Maginhawa Street, Quezon City. I had known it because of my best friend’s Instagram post. I searched a lot for that café, and shocked when it is owned by Thomasian entrepreneurs who were once Commerce students in UST. Since I suddenly liked photography because of my previous job, it’s a must-try. Soon, one of these days, I will visit their café with my best friend named Therese who posted a picture in Instagram few months ago.
