My Favorite Idol Group Members in KPop

Korean pop music is still in demand. When I say KPop, the first thing in mind is idol groups such as Big Bang, 2NE1, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, 2PM, and Wonder Girls. I have biases if I'm a fan of a group and I have favorites if I'm not a fan of them. Here are the KPop idol stars from some groups who I liked and the reason why.

Jonghyun (SHINee): He's sexy and handsome. First noticed him in the MV 'Ring Ding Dong'.

Ryeowook (Super Junior): Adorable smile and cute face. First noticed him on the MV 'Sorry Sorry'.

Siwon (Super Junior): Sexy abs and handsome face. Second bias after Ryeowook.

Sungmin (Super Junior): Adorable smile and handsome face. Third bias after Siwon.

Taeyeon (Girls' Generation): First noticed her in their KBS Music Bank comeback performance 'The Boys' which we had the same hairstyle.

Tiffany (Girls' Generation): During the press conference of 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards held in Singapore, she answered MYX VJ Chino's question in English.

Jessica (Girls' Generation): I watched their guest appearance in an American TV show during 'The Boys' English version promotion that was featured in The MTV Show. She talked in English. In addition, Fahrenheit's Calvin Chen said before that she is his favorite member in Girls' Generation.

Amber (f(x)): Her boyish look. I thought she's the only guy in the group then found out that she's a girl!

Luna (f(x)): Her voice most especially when she's hitting high notes.

Yunho (TVXQ): Charismatic face. When he dances, he's so sexy.

Kai (EXO): First noticed him in their MV 'MAMA'.

Soyeon (T-ARA): We're both born on October 5. But she's 2 years older than me.

Chunji (Teen Top)We're both born on October 5. But he's 4 years younger than me.

Dara (2NE1): She was a famous actress in the Philippines after the talent search called Star Circle Quest. Though she's already a KPop idol star, she didn't forget her second home which is the Philippines. In fact, she can still speak Tagalog when she was interviewed by MYX VJ Bianca during Etude House promotion that was held in Korea few months ago.

TOP (Big Bang): Handsome face and his fashion style. I always love his hair since their MV 'Blue'.

Yonghwa (CNBlue): First noticed him in the drama 'You're Beautiful' with Park Shinhye but I didn't know that time that he's the CNBlue's frontman. I liked him more in his recent drama 'Heartstrings' and his contribution in composing songs for KPop newbies Juniel and AOA.

Daniel (Dalmatian): He's currently hosting Arirang TV's Pops in Seoul.

The Most Nonsense Philippine Trending Topics I've Ever Seen

Alert!!!

It irritates my sense of sight when I saw these non-sense trending topics in the Philippines (most especially about that Pinoy Big Brother thing):

  • BebeGailOnKPM YoureTheBestPrincess
  • GailOnTodaMax YvesRocksTarlac
  • WeLoveKAREN RyanBoyceForANGELITO2
  • BeCarefulWithMyHeart WithJALECandJOJ
  • SLAVINE Loving8MonthsOfRollerCoasterRide
  • SLATERandDENIESSE WeAreProudOfYou
  • RYRENforAngelito2
  • RyanOnBananaSplit
  • MYRTLE and YVES KeepCalmAndLove
Pinoy Big Brother 2012 seasons (Unlimited and Teen Edition 4) were done airing, but still they trend so much, most especially that some of the ex-housemates will be having their own projects. I know fans of these ex-housemates are very excited to see them on screen, but it's very annoying to see these "long" from the top 10 trending topics in the Philippines recently, for almost everyday!

I read the some negative comments and shared some of them in this article: (I retweeted or favorited all of these on my Twitter account @iam_smtowngirl.)
Jusme. Konting hiya.
  • @Juzzvibe: Apparently, Philippines has the most nonsense trends.
  • @sofia_jade: Not happy with the jejemon trends. Ano ba?
  • @Joshuaaquino: Do you mind changing the criteria for a thing to trend? Philippine trends suck.
  • @ianpaolocainap: Anu ba yan! Nakakabanas naman mga Philippine Trends. Very very Pointless.
  • @renreneth: Philippine trends are littered w/ nonsense & stupid jeje forced trends. YUCK!!
  • @danescalilung: I dont enjoy browsing Philippine trends anymore. Puro PBB related. Can you please get over it guys.
Yes, I'm a fan of Pinoy Big Brother because of what's gonna happen in the next days that housemates of each season will do inside the Big Brother House. But I'm not as crazy as the people who want to trend such any topic that they want to trend it either locally or worldwide since PBB Teen Edition 4 finished airing.

Now I changed the Twitter trends from Philippines to Worldwide or Singapore because I don't like to see those non-sense trending topics.

I know that there would be a time that these trending topics in the Philippines would contain no 'PBB-related' topics. Maybe these coming weeks or months.

Dolphy: Six Decades of Laughter and Inspiration

Last July 10, 2012, sad news came out and it was confirmed by long-time partner and Divine Diva, Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla that the Philippines’ King of Comedy Dolphy died at the age of 83. Filipinos were shocked and suddenly gave condolences and prayers to his family through posting in social networking sites.

Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr. or also known as Dolphy was born on July 25, 1928. He started in theatre, followed by radio, TV, and movies.

According to the people who had met and known him for years, he was a very humble person, a true friend, a caring father, a loving partner, and a talented artist. Comedians and other artists in Philippine entertainment industry looked up to him as a mentor, an idol, and an inspiration. Even simple citizens whom he helped said positive things about him. I listened to every person that the reporter/interviewer asked questions about him. I hadn’t heard any negative from them.

When I was a kid, I remembered his role as Kevin Cosme in the sitcom titled ‘Home Along Da Riles’. I laughed with his punch lines, even when he laughed. Also, I watched his other sitcoms aired in ABS-CBN: ‘Home Along Da Airport’, ‘John En Shirley’, and ‘Quizon Avenue’. I never forget his recent movies ‘Dobol Trobol’ and ‘Father Jejemon’. I didn’t get to watch ‘John En Marsha’ and his other previous sitcoms and movies. But when I saw some clips, I smiled and laughed.

I cried when I saw breaking news on ABS-CBN around 8:30pm last July 10 that King of Comedy Dolphy passed away. Though I didn’t meet him or know him personally, I felt sad and posted tweets to give condolences to Quizon Family. Before I had slept, I prayed for his soul few hours after he lost his breath.

He played unforgettable roles as John Puruntong and Kevin Cosme. He’s a versatile actor, a handsome musician, a comedy legend, a true inspiration, a kind-hearted idol, a graceful dancer, and a national treasure. Though he hadn’t given yet a National Artist award, indeed he is a true national artist that remains in every Filipino’s hearts forever because he inspires people through his smiles, laughter, and contribution in the Philippine entertainment industry for 60 years. He engaged more than half of his life in showbiz. What a big loss in the industry.

Tito Dolphy, thank you for your smiles and laughter. You inspired people like me to live happy even though problems suddenly went right away and trying them to solve it in the right time. I know you’re happy in heaven with God. You are now a good angel who will guide us until the end. We will miss you.

My Inspiration in Becoming A Story Writer

It's been more than a year since I am writing stories. I don't know how did all began, but in my heart I want to express my inspiration and encouragement in storytelling.

"My Greatest Love" was the first story that I'd written. I was a Fahrenheit fan and Calvin Chen biased that's why I want to create a story about me and him. Originally, I wanted this story to have only 15 chapters, but because of my friends on Facebook liked it since I posted first 5 chapters. I divided into 3 parts:

  • 我最大的愛 My Greatest Love
  • My Greatest Love: A Promise of Happiness [Trilogy]
  • My Greatest Love: A Perfect World
This story had a total of 40 chapters. "My Greatest Love" was not only about me, but also my best friends who found their own Mr. Right. My name there was Xiao Mei who meets up with Fahrenheit member Calvin Chen. Xiao Mei was in Taiwan to pursue her college education but suddenly she became Taiwan's superstar. I also posted this story on AsianFanatics Fanfiction Forum and Wattpad sites.

The second story I made was titled "The Boys & I". I decided on that title because one of my favorite KPop songs was from Girls' Generation which was 'The Boys'. It's still ongoing. I'm now writing Chapter 39 but in Wattpad, I posted a total of 18 chapters. I had no plan in dividing this story in parts unlike the previous story. In this story, I'm Maria Christina Kitana Gosiengfiao, a heiress who wants to become a famous singer. Because she became a valedictorian in high school, her father granted her dream secretly. She was trained and got famous; she proved that a non-Korean can rule the world of KPop music.

There are some similarities between Xiao Mei and Christina. First, from being an ordinary girl to a famous superstar. Second, they never forget where they came from. Third, they both found love with a member of a boy group. And lastly, they are proud that they are Filipino-born. The difference would be Xiao Me fell in love with Taiwanese singer and Fahrenheit member Calvin Chen while Christina fell in love with Korean singer and SHINee member Kim Jonghyun.

But my inspiration in writing these stories is becoming a famous performer/artist in the Philippines. That's why I enrolled in Society of Singers - Center for Arts Foundation. I finished the first level which is the voice, dance, and acting workshop. Now, I'm taking up level 2 which is musical theater workshop. In order to have my own solo concert (level 3), I must finish the level 2. That's my goal: having my own solo concert. Though my parents and siblings didn't want me to pursue it because they want me to find a job, I'll still continue it because I have a passion for music and nobody would stop me. But if my dream wouldn't come true in a span of at least a year, I would give up that dream and wouldn't regret that decision because I already achieved in having a successful solo concert.

That's me (holding a microphone in front of the dancers) singing a song from movie Grease which popularized by Olivia Newton-John titled "Hopelessly Devoted To You" during the grand recital last June 24, 2012 at Area 05, Tomas Morato, Quezon City, Philippines
